The French War-Chest is Stolen
After half an hour the ruckus is over. The chests are empty. Anyone who arrived late goes away empty-handed and the local magistrate can finally finish his lunch in peace.
After this defeat the French return to Siegen. As one of them has twisted an ankle running away from the peasants he must unfortunately be admitted to the hospital in Freudenberg.
The next morning, 10th September, the hungry local magistrate is disturbed during breakfast, which is why he is in a bad mood for the rest of the day. A peasant organisation enters Freudenberg to steal the treasure which they presume is hidden in the houses of Freudenberg’s citizens. French reinforcements arrive in the evening, repelling the peasants.
